How to Upload Your Website Files

At EasyHost, you can upload your website files using either the cPanel File Manager or an FTP client. This guide will show you both methods so you can get your website online quickly.

Option 1: Using cPanel File Manager

1. Login to cPanel
   Access your cPanel via the Client Area or direct login.

2. Open File Manager
   In cPanel, go to the Files section and click File Manager.

3. Navigate to the public_html folder
   This is the root directory for your website.

4. Upload your files
   Click Upload and select your website files from your computer. Wait for the upload to complete.

5. Check your website
   Open your domain in a browser to ensure your website loads correctly.

Option 2: Using FTP

1. Install an FTP client
   Download an FTP client like FileZilla.

2. Connect to your server
   Enter your cPanel username, password, and server IP or domain in your FTP client.

3. Navigate to public_html
   This is the folder where your website files should be uploaded.

4. Upload your files
   Drag and drop your website files from your computer to the server. Wait until all files are fully transferred.

5. Verify your site
   Open your domain in a browser to confirm your website is live.

Tips

• Always upload your main website files to the public_html folder to ensure they display correctly.
• Keep a backup of your website files before making changes or uploads.
• If uploading large files, use FTP for faster transfers and avoid timeouts.
• Check file permissions after upload; typically 644 for files and 755 for folders.

Troubleshooting

• Files not showing on the website: Ensure files are in public_html and not a subfolder unless intended.
• Upload fails or times out: Try using FTP, or split large files into smaller batches.
• Permission errors: Check file and folder permissions and adjust as needed.
